Mike,
You stated that the piece that broke off was the clutch cable holder. This is the peice that is connected to a lever at the back of the crank case (right side, sitting on bike). This lever enters through the cover, not the crankcase itself. I know because I have removed the cover three times now trying to fix my cam chain tensioner adjuster inside that cover. Mayby you are talking about some other piece?
